good gear to get me there.  When time and money were right, I decided to go for it.  I knew that, because of job and family, I couldn't do all of the AT at one time.  So I decided to do a "Half Way" Thru Hike.

I started asssembling mail drops in June, 1998, had my backpack ready to go by Christmas, 1998. My job approved my 4 month leave of absence in January, 1999.  I'm taking care of the last minute details at this time.  So I'm ready to go.

So the logs contained in this area will be reflections of my trip.  I look forward to the challenge and the sense of accomplishment  that I will feel after hopefully completing my goal.  My trip logs will be mailed from the trail and uploaded to this area.  Man, I can't wait to hit the trail.
