4/30 -- Yesterday's rain became mixed with snow and I was miserable.  I dodged storm #6 by hitch hiking to the Fox Hill B&B.  It was great!  Today I had a good

hiking day.  Temps in the 50's, partly sunny.  Good terain.  Camped at the brand new Partnership Shelter with "Cracker" and "Eagle".  This is the best shelter so far.  2 levels for sleeping and a shower.  I may try to push for Atkins tomorrow night.  Late breaking news:  at about 8:30 pm a man walked up to our shelter with 2 cold six packs of beer, Corona (with a whole lime) and Sam Adams.  He simply said "You guys enjoy!" and walked away.  I had a Corona with lime.  Eagle made some popcorn.  It was great!

5/1 -- Did 12 good miles and made it to Atkins, VA.  I'll take tomorrow off and meet Bill & Chris Isham on 5/3.  They will hike with me for the final 44 miles to Bland, VA
