The following are free Perl scripts that I have written:
Appalachian Trail Distance Calculator- (Version 2.3, 2-3-2008)
The front end is identical to the Classic AT Distance Calculator. However,
the data is pulled from a MySQL database as opposed to flat files.
Browser Detection/Redirection Program- (Version 1.2, 11-23-2004) This is a
simple program that looks at the browser user agent string and then redirects
the user to the appropriate web page.
Calling a Perl Script from Within a Perl Script- (Version 1.0,
07-16-2003) Originally written to call the DB Based Ad Banner Rotator, these
few lines of code will call a Perl Script from within a Perl Script.
Classic Appalachian Trail Distance Calculator- (Version 3.1, 01-09-2006)
This application calculates the distance in miles between given points along
the A.T. Please note that this app is no longer being updated as of
01-01-2007
DB Based Ad Banner Rotator- (Version 3.0, 01-17-2005) Using SSI and
MySql, this app will randomly generate ad banners on a given web page.
DB Based Membership Directory- (Version 1.0, 2-16-2001) Similar to the
original Member Directory application except that the data is both read
from and written to a MySQL database as opposed to flat files.
English to Metric Converter- (Version 2.0, 7-16-2003) This one will convert
inches, feet, yards and miles into centimeters, meters or kilometers or visa
versa.
Inventory Control Program- (Version 1.0, 3-29-2005) I wrote this for a
small software company so they could keep track of vendor software checked
out by their employees.
Mason-Dixon Trail Distance Calculator- (Version 2.0, 3-26-2005) This
application calculates the distance in miles between given points along the
Mason-Dixon Trail in PA, MD and DE.
Member Directory Program- (Version 3.0, 12-16-2003) A series of Perl
Scripts that allows one to build and maintain a dynamic web based membership
list.

(Version 1.0, 9-02-2004) This one had me stumped for about 5 years as to how
to do this in Perl. But now I have solved it.
Stock Option Proceeds Calculator- (Version 1.0, 3-9-2000) This Perl script
will figure out how much you've made (or lost) with all of those stock options
that you have accumulated.
Site Last Updated Program- (Version 1.1, 7-26-2003) 2 Perl scripts, an
addition to your .profile file and server side include capability will tell
users the last time that your site was updated.
Slide Show Viewer- (Version 1.1, 10-19-2003) 2 Perl scripts and a MySQL
database will allow you to view groupings of any images on the internet. Has
both manual and auto view modes.
Server Side Include Page Last Updated-
(Version 1.0, 9-08-2004) This isn't really a Perl script, and I didn't really
write it. But here's how to use server side includes to place dynamic page
last updated code on a .shtml web page.
Survey Generator- (Version 1.0, 3-4-2001)
This series of Perl scripts generates a front end survey "on the fly". It is
designed to work with a backend Perl script called "The Voting Booth" by
Virtual Marketing Technologies.
Temperature Converter- (Version 2.0, 7-23-2003) This program converts Fahrenheit temperature to Celcius or visa versa. Weather Watcher Lite- (Version 1.1, 04-28-2004) This application allows Weather Watchers to post weather information for their area to an online spreadsheet.
Web Dice- (Version 1.0, 03-03-2004) This one
lets you virtually roll from one to six dice and get random results.
WO&D Trail Distance Calculator- (Version 1.0, 06-20-2002) This one
calculates the distance in miles between given points along the WO&D
Multipurpose Trail in northern VA.
Year/Number Program- (Version 1.0, 8-1-2000) This server side include Perl
script will tell users the the amount of time that your site has been in
existance in the same format as a newspaper.
