Once the file is in place use the gzip utility to expand the files by typing: gunzip surgen.tar.gz If you don't have this freeware compression utility you can get it at: ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/unsupported/gnu/ Once the file is unzipped it will be in this format: surgen.tar To untar this file type the following: tar -xvf surgen.tar The result should be the surgen directory.
