01/2008-04/2008 Senior Operations Engineer. As the company grew my duties became more focused. Main concentrations included checking out code from CVS, performing code builds, installing code on remote and local servers, maintaining inventory of servers destined for customers. Also was involved in bringing new customers online, troubleshooting customer problems and providing support to other areas within the company when needed.
01/2006-12/2007 Senior QA Engineer. Performed black/white box testing on both an ad-hoc and test plan basis of the Paxfire Lookup Engine, which consisted of from one to three servers and applications that generate click through income for ISP's. Duties included building, configuring and cabling servers, checking code builds out of CVS and installing this code on these servers, running manual, smoke and automated tests, regression testing, troubleshooting, writing up/verifying bugs as well as prepping servers for shipment to customers. The applications were primarily written in C, Perl and Bash Shell and ran on Intel based Linux servers. Additional responsibilities included customer support, Bugzilla Bug Tracking Application Administration as well as QA Web Site Administration.

06/2005-12/2005 Contractor, QA Engineer at AOL. Performed black box testing on both an ad-hoc and test plan basis of the redesign of the web based AOL Mobile product, which was written in .jsp, XML and .asp. Duties included assisting in installing and configuring new builds onto an Apache Tomcat server, regression testing the app, writing up bugs and writing up test cases. A subsequent project was testing an enhanced AIM Away web based component that let AIM and AOL users see other Buddy List member.s away messages and comment on them. Similar testing methodologies were used for this product.

Senior QA Tester. Performed black/white box testing on both an ad-hoc and test plan basis of the Java based Formula product. Duties included checking out new builds daily, performing smoke and/or regression tests, configuring the various adaptors, orbs, databases, portlets and network management systems that interact with this software and writing up bugs. Tests administered were for UI, performance, alarm comparison with various Network Management Systems as well as usability and interoperability with various hardware configurations and OS.s.

06/2004-01/2005 Contractor, QA Tester at AOL. Performed Quality Assurance testing for various AOL Clients utilizing black box testing. Concentration was in enhanced Instant Message functions such as video IM, file transfer, direct connect IM and IM talk. Duties included checking out completed code builds from a repository, installing it on various test PC configurations from Windows98 to Windows XP, testing these combinations either from a test plan or on an ad hoc basis and reporting bugs. Testing included looking for bugs as well as testing the general UI and interoperability between components.

03/2004-06/2004 Contractor, Interactive Media Developer at AOL. Schedule and publish online promotions to the AOL Welcome, Sign-Off and Mail screens using proprietary tools such as Shark and Welcome Screen Publishing Tools Suite as well as HTML, Flash and XML. Work with editors to ensure quality publishing and scheduling of the various promotions and images that one sees on the AOL welcome, mail and sign off screens for the most current as well as the last 3 versions of the AOL client on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

Senior Client Server Developer/Web Developer. Maintain and develop web based travel applications utilizing HTML, Perl, Java Script, Java, XML and C. Examples include over 40 customized versions of ResByWeb, which is a reservation request application utilized by various military and government customers; SatoTravel Commercial Intranet, which has information for and about the commercial call centers; Customer Service Application, which is a web/Perl/Tuxedo/Sybase based application that records, updates and provides reporting for problems encountered by customers and their solutions; Profiler, which allows travelers to update their own profile information; Performance Coach Tool, which gathers and summarizes travel agent statistics and XML Message Broker, an XML/Java based application that exchanges traveler profile data with other Travel partners.

1993-2000 AOL, 22020 AOL Way, Dulles, Virginia.
1997-2000 QA Engineer. Tested and installed code for AOL Business Systems Group. Included testing Web/Sybase or Red Brick applications, working with Stratus, Tandem and UNIX machines and using regression-testing methods. Performed extensive Y2K testing of various AOL reporting and data warehouse applications. Tools used include Win Runner, Silk Performer Plus, Visual Test as well as in-house scripts consisting of Perl or Korn Shell. Also wrote Perl scripts that would verify developer code. Examples included a file parsing application that would go through a list of records and write the lines of this file to various output files depending on the criteria specified in this Perl script.
1996-1997 Associate Systems Administrator. Troubleshoot Web access problems for partner websites to the AOL service anywhere from the HTML level down to the TCP/IP packet level, provided detailed technical reviews of partner web sites with regard to speed and compatibility with the AOL service. Worked with Solaris, HP, Irix as well as Linux in the maintenance and troubleshooting areas. Was an interim team lead for a period while in this position.
1996 Internet Applications Specialist. Composed Web pages utilizing HTML along with CGI's consisting of Perl, Tcl or C; designed various web based test tools. Examples included an HTTP error code description and resolution program which gave a description and a resolution to an HTTP error code when it was entered into the application. 1994-1996 Remote Managed Gateway Specialist- Designed and coded both front end forms and back end C code for Remote Managed Gateways or RMG's, which are applications directly connected to servers located outside of AOL's network. Examples included the Countdown Trivia Game and TravelFile. Also worked with alpha testers to establish user interface and human factor elements when designing forms on applications such as QB1, an interactive sports game. The back end C code opened up and established a connection to the remote host, brought up the proper AOL forms and called up the proper data to populate these forms.
1993-1994 Senior Technical Support Specialist. Troubleshoot X.25, TCP/IP and modem connection problems with end users to the AOL service.
